She began her musical journey at the age of six, on the road with her renowned musical family developing her distinctive voice and unique musical talents. As a solo artist, Halladay has appeared with highly accomplished and award-winning artists like Jewel, Korb Lund, Colter Wall, Michael Martin Murphey, and Collin Raye. These days she is involved in many projects, a roaring 20's swing band called Second Story, a Fleetwood Mac Tribute, and a country rock band called the Barn Dance Revival. She has taught artist development at the University of Montana, enjoyed teaching music and producing shows with youth at many elementary schools, and led dozens of songwriting workshops. Educators are a combination of licensed teachers and professional musicians, such as Rob Quist, Dustin Brayley from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and actress and broadway star Meredith Patterson. A fantastic addition to public schools, homeschools or hobby students of all ages, different aspects of the entertainment industry will be offered at the learning center. IWD406 Interview Emily Swisher EPS 23

In the latest episode of The IWD406 Podcast, our guest is Emily Swisher.
Emily Swisher is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in equine interventions and trauma. Her education includes a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University and a Master's in Clinical Counseling from Regis University. Additionally, Emily is a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning from PATH International. Her further interest in mind-body responses to trauma prompted her to become trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). With her expertise in trauma and equine interventions, Emily has written several publications and spoken at conferences on trauma informed care in therapeutic riding facilities. As a proponent for women's rights, Emily has also testified at the Colorado State Capitol as a representative of the Junior League of Denver. Her first novel, STABLE: A Therapist and the Healing Nature of Horses was published in April 2024. Chronicling her personal development with horses, STABLE explains why these extraordinarily intuitive animals have the ability to mirror human emotions, helping us to discover hidden parts of ourselves to overcome trauma, bring peace and show us how to live more authentically and mindfully.

Bethany Barnes, Miss Whitefish is a contestant for the Miss Montana Pageant. This will be her third time competing for the title of Miss Montana. Last year Bethany was awarded the “Non-Finalist Best Talent” award for her ventriloquism act. Bethany is a self taught ventriloquist and has been spreading joy through ventriloquism for 6 years! Bethany is the host of her very own podcast called the “Miss 406 Podcast” featuring former Miss Montanas and local title holders like herself. She is also a published author with her new children’s book “Rio’s Trio Learns to Stay Wild and Stay Safe” discussing her community service initiative “Stay Wild Stay Safe” which is about wildlife safety education.

She was born, raised and educated in Montana.  She was the youngest person ever elected to the office of Mayor for the City of Kalispell.  She's an attorney, a former prosecutor, a columnist for the Flathead Beacon, Billings Gazette, Helena Independent Record, Missoulian, The Montana Standard and the Ravalli Republic, and the Founder of Gap Fillers Flathead, a non-profit organization focused on eliminating school lunch debt and puberty shaming.  She's a small business owner, a daughter, a wife and mother.

Alaskan born, Montana raised. Marcella is a 35-year-old wife and mother to two beautiful, healthy boys. Her  profession is on-location makeup artist, specializing in production work and the bridal scene. She has had the privilege of working with brides from across the US and working on photoshoots for companies like Zeiss Camera Lenses, Altar’d State, Olukai Footwear, and etc.
In addition to makeup artistry, Marcella is a fashion stylist, dressing a diverse clientele such as Coleman, the outdoor company, LA musicians, local Flathead Valley artists and business owners, and many more.
When she is not working, you can find her recharging in the woods, likely by a little mountain lake, and/or spending quality time with my family.

Sarah Rugheimer, a native of Montana, currently holds the Allan I. Carswell Chair for the Public Understanding of Astronomy at York University in Toronto. Her research primarily focuses on modeling the atmosphere and climate of exoplanets, with a specific interest in identifying atmospheric biosignatures on Earth-like planets and simulating early Earth environments. Apart from her academic pursuits, Sarah actively engages with the public on topics related to astrophysics and astrobiology. Recently, she accomplished a personal goal by reaching the summit of Denali. 
Sarah's journey includes her experience transitioning from a community college to Harvard University, grappling with imposter syndrome, addressing gender and racial biases in STEM education, and highlighting the importance of mentorship in her life. Sarah proudly identifies as a Sallyist, a term coined to honor Sally Conrad, an inspiring Montana woman who is featured on our podcast.
